The world has gone crazy. It used to be that we were encouraging children to dream big and try hard when we told them they could be anything they wanted. These days, some teachers and authority figures literally mean for the kids in their charge to decide to be something and demand everyone else accept their decision. Reality matters, so, let me help anyone so deluded they think a boy can be a girl and vice versa.
The Bible says that God created male and female in every species He designed. I am a woman because God gave me female reproductive parts. Because I am a woman, I have been pregnant and given birth and become a mother. I am a wife, a daughter, and a sister. These are all things no man can be no matter how many drugs he may take, surgeries he may have, or demands he may make.
The Bible also gives us women a beautiful description of what a Godly woman, a lady, an ambassador princess for the King of Kings should be. Proverbs 31:10-31 says, "10 Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.12 She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar.15 She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants.16 She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.17 She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms.18 She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night.19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. 20 She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet.22 She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. 25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” 30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
A lady for Jesus, is trustworthy and supportive of the people in her life. She works hard in her household and her profession. She sacrifices for her family and demonstrates hospitality in her home and everywhere she goes. She is strong and confident and generous. She makes sure her children are clothed properly, responsible, and prepared to be adults. She presents herself appropriately in public. She is honorable and wise and kind. She has the respect and admiration of her children and her husband. She is well mannered and honest. Men may have some of these noble traits in their character, but they cannot become a woman. Most women do not exercise their capacity to become a lady.
I dare every woman I know to read this passage and take it to heart. Let it sink in. Realize that we are in a privileged position and uniquely poised to make a difference in the world. Jesus bares all the responsibility of the Heir. He had to make the perfect sacrifice and, as Crown Prince, he oversees us all. We, on the other hand, are the "spares", the adopted royals whose only duties include spreading the Word about the free Gift of Salvation the King has offered to everyone we encounter. We get to kiss the babies and attend the events and share the Good News. We have the honor of inviting other women to be adopted into the royal family. It has never been more important for ladies who love Jesus to take their place.
Ladies of the Lord: May we honor them, become them, and raise them.
